What divers say about
Channel Islands Scuba...

We go to Channel Islands Scuba in Thousand Oaks to do our repairs. When you average over 150 hours of underwater work annually its becomes exceptionally obvious who does the best job. I still dive for recreation, mostly with my wife and kids, and I will only let Channel Islands service our equipment.

I wanted to say thank you for taking us to Palau. It was one of the most adventurous vacations we have had.  The diving experience was beyond description.  We really enjoyed the people that went on the trip.  What a great group of experienced. fun divers who made the trip unforgettable.  We are blessed to be associated with you and your dive shop.  Your business is professional and superior in quality.  We feel comfortable with your expertise in diving.  We look forward to more warm H2O dives.

Dieter and I would like to thank you for putting together a wonderful trip.  We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.  It's rare when everything comes together - weather, travel, accommodations, the group, and of course the spectacular diving.  Thank you, too, for taking an interest in our welfare throughout the week.  Not, necessary, but appreciated.  Thanks also for the pictures, one who leaves their camera on such a trip cannot expect to recoup such memories...I lucked out!

Hi Chris!

I had such a blast diving in Cabo!! The conditions weren't great, crazy strong currents, cold water, and poor visibility, but it was all worth it because we spent most of the day diving with sea lions!! It was amazing!

Cabo was by far the most technically challenging dive I've ever done, so I was really glad to have my own equipment.  The regulator was fantastic and super-comfortable, especially with the custom mouthpiece. And the dive computer is amazing, I know I'm only using about 1/10th of its functions, but I love it! I can't wait to dive more and get to know more of it's capabilities.

I also wanted to thank you again for spending all that time with me talking about the options and then reviewing the equipment, you guys went the extra mile and made me feel much safer, and much more
confident in my purchase. :-)  I'll definitely be back in to talk about drysuits I was freezing in Mexico, so I think I'll definitely be a drysuit diver in SoCal! I've heard it's very different to dive with a dry suit, I'm looking forward to meeting some other SoCal divers and hearing more about upcoming dives. Have a great weekend, and thanks again for all your help. I can't wait to get started diving with CIS!

Chris,

Thanks you so much for putting together this trip and including my mom and me. It was a great introduction to Scuba and I look forward to diving more in the future. The certification process was quite easy after you set it up and I felt more than prepared for the open water dives after taking the course from you and Tim. Thanks again for everything.

Chris,

Just wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed the first night of the equipment repair class, and I'm looking forward to the next class. It was very interesting to tear apart, rebuild, and reassemble a 1st and 2nd stage regulator. And, seeing all that sand in the regulators really stressed the importance of trying to keep my regulator clean and serviced every year. And, as an added bonus, it's always good when you can get together and combine diving with pizza! Tell Darrell thanks for helping me out when I couldn't figure out which o-ring went where, and thanks to Rich for helping me find the o-rings after they hit the floor.

Chris,

Thanks so much for the snorkel bag.  It’s fantastic!  Lori already has it geared up for Hawaii, and is already enjoying having it.

Chris,

Lori and I had a great time snorkeling in Hawaii, and much of the credit goes to you.  You, Tim, and Jay taught us a lot about safety and etiquette, and it paid dividends for us during our snorkel trips (we couldn’t find a dive excursion through the cruise line). First of all, they took one look at the snorkel bag you gave her and figured her for a veteran. As a result, she got REALLY nice treatment. The ship’s photographer took her to a spot about 100 yards from the boat to see the sea turtles. Everyone else had crowded over one spot; Lori got one all to herself and actually had the chance to swim with the turtles. The boats’ captains all treated us like we knew what we were doing.  We knew enough NOT to descend the stairs with our fins on (as one passenger did, against Lori’s recommendation, and subsequently kicked another passenger in the face).  Getting on and off the dive seat was easy on the boat; so was exiting the Zodiak craft (the Captain asked that I not do a backwards roll; he allowed another passenger to do that a year ago and he kicked his wife in the face, breaking her nose!).  He did appreciate my “ok” signal after entry, though.  As a result, after he recalled the other snorkelers to get ready to leave, he gave Lori and me an extra 10 minutes in the water.  We also remembered to tip him at the end, too.

Anyway, thank you for introducing us to the sport and taking the time to teach us the right way.  Lori LOVES her snorkel bag…and it’s blue and black!

Chris,

I just wanted to drop a line and say thanks for the great rebuild on my regulator 1st and 2nd stages. Used it in Loreto, Baja for a week and all was well. That is the 1st time in the 20 years I have owned this equipment that the adjustments were perfect from 10 feet to 100 feet. No noise, flutter, anything. I have had other shops work on it every other year or so and always there was an issue.

Thanks again. I will do better to have you service it every year.
